Time Delay Relay

Extend your compressor's life while simplifying your own

Time Delay Relay

Time-delay relays have timer circuits that control the opening or closing of contacts in a device, so they can turn equipment on or off at specific times. For example, if you usually go to bed around 10:30pm, and you know you like your home to be a cooler temperature while you sleep, you could set the time delay relay to automatically turn the thermostat down every night at your bedtime and then turn back up in the morning after you’ve woken up. Settings on the time delay relay also help keep your compressor from burning out too soon by only performing the action 3-5 minutes after the last thermostat adjustment. Essentially, if you can’t make up your mind or someone is simply messing around with the thermostat, this string of actions won’t trigger the compressor to perform all these functions in a row (which puts a lot of strain on the equipment).
